    • 12 Reasons to Live in a Small Town
Living in small towns has special challenges and delights. When I say ‘small’ I mean ‘small’. The town I live near has approximately 250 people. The county seat has 3600 and the county has about 16,000. So this is rural America. You might think this county was in the western states where the population is lower and space is not a problem. No, I live in Illin […]
    • A Slave Of God
I am a slave of Yaweh. We shy away from the concept, and understandably so, given the history of slavery here is the US.  I am one, however, and proud to declare it. As a believer in Christ, I have been paid for by Yeshua through his death and resurrection.  Thus, he owns me and I am his slave. Paul, Timothy and James, the brother of Christ, all claimed it. […]
    • What Is Your Ambition?
Often people will wonder what God's will for their life is. Paul told us in 1 Thess. 4:11 and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life and attend to your own business and work with your hands, just as we commanded you.We make it so complicated. It's simple really. Keep your life simple. Keep your nose out of others business (translation; don […]

    • BOOK REVIEW: UNDERTOW BY DESMOND CORY
This is my first introduction to Desmond Cory and his British Intelligence man Johnny Fedora. Cory is known for these spy novels among other written works. Tuesday Promotion in Motion: Simply Salsa, our own Janet Eckles, an inspiration!

Posted by Lisa Lickel on July 17, 2012

About the Book: Simply Salsa: Dancing Without Fear at God’s Fiesta

Simply Salsa is a sassy, passionate guide to show you how to celebrate life, dance to the melody of God’s Word and relish in a life free from fear.

Janet, tell us, What do you love about this book?

I love how the insights I share bring me close to my reader. The style is warm and inviting– just the way I want my friends to be.

What’s the main thing you learned during the process of writing and publishing this book?

I learned that although I planned the outline, the wording and crafted the insights, God had a specific design for the process, the chapters and the message. I also learned that writing is the delight, marketing is the dreaded task, but the impact to my readers is a divine thing.

What should your readers discover and want to share with their family and friends after reading this book?

That living a Christian life doesn’t have to be solemn, bland or rigid. Living the abundant life includes joy even in tough moments, hope instead of giving up, and confidence to conquer fear.

About the author:

Although blind, Janet Perez Eckles has been inspiring thousands to see the best in life. Through God’s grace, she works as an international speaker and author. Her writing appears in more than 28 anthologies and in her own inspirational books including #1 bestselling, Simply Salsa: Dancing without Fear at God’s Fiesta.  She loves to take long walks with Gene, her hubby of 36 years, to cook (in the dark) and to salsa every chance she gets.
